Michigan State University Dumps Football Recruit Charged with Sexual Extortion of Juvenile Girl

Steffan Lamar Johnson has also lost on a college football career.
“Michigan State football informed Steffan Johnson now that he won’t be a part of the Spartan program,” a spokesman to Michigan State University told The Detroit News.
The events unfolded after police say the father of a juvenile girl informed them Johnson jeopardized his daughter. The girl rejected the defendant’s improvements, and the defendant is alleged to have reacted by stating he’d post video of the girl doing a sex act .
Cops said that they spoke to the girl, who claimed that Johnson tried to kiss her. She said she received a text message containing the hazard and video of herself doing the aforementioned action on Johnson.
Both victim and suspect were minors at the time of the video, police said.
MSU formerly chose a wait-and-see approach into the allegations against Johnson, a cornerback in Florida’s Venice High School.
“Michigan State Athletics is aware of the issue and monitoring the circumstance,” a spokesman formerly said.
Johnson announced in November that he’d be committing to MSU.
“Go Green,” he wrote, and tweeted that he could be in a clinic that happened Saturday.
Jail records reveal Johnson was arrested Thursday by the North Port Police Department. He faces one count of extortion or threats and one count of cruelty towards children by directing or promoting a sexual performance by a kid. The documents indicate that the defendant got out of jail for the exact identical day he was detained by posting a $50,000 bond bond.
It’s uncertain if he has an attorney in this issue. Though prison documents contain a case number for the matter involving Johnson, online Sarasota County, Fla. court documents don’t yet include any pertinent documents.
